Wow, that is one great photo and the gate is simply magnificent. You’ve given it the strength it deserves, I think. And I love it in black and white. Seriously a great shot! thanks for sharing.

Cannot help thinking of Piranesi (http://tinyurl.com/6a5ynsu)
watching this neoclassical (very likely early Victorian) colonnade. Piranesi’s art after all influenced the newly emerging European neoclassical taste…still this is Aberdeen in 2011 and he bus stops are appropriate visual markers for realism rather than classical sentimentalism..the contrast is intriguing though..
