Birthday picture

Regular readers of this blog know I have a special (if amateur) interest in photography. So I hope you’ll forgive the self-indulgence of my pointing out that today is the 61st birthday of Annie Leibovitz, perhaps the greatest living portrait photographer. She produced some of the most iconic portraits of the past few decades, including the last photo to have been taken of John Lennon. If you are unfamiliar with her work, it is worth checking it out.
